Open Board Meeting

Be sure to attend and hear what your board has to say.  The new property manager will be there.

The California Davis-Stirling Open Meeting Act (Civ. Code §§ 4900-4955) mandates that HOA board meetings be open to all members to attend and observe.   A homeowner forum immediately preceding the board meeting gives owners the opportunity to voice their concerns, comments, and thoughts.  However, the board is not obligated to respond to anything said in the homeowner forum.  Board meetings are business meetings held so board members can discuss amongst themselves and vote on actions needed to govern the HOA.  Therefore, once the board meeting begins, homeowners are not allowed to speak or ask questions unless addressed directly by a board member.
