The clubhouse roof project has begun. Stan Morlet, our Maintenance Director, plus Lorenzo and John, prepared the pool area by covering all the carpeting with plastic, and moving all the tables and chairs under the overhang.
The first step in the roofing project was stripping off all the old shingles, then removing the paper underlayment. Stan made sure the roofers used a ramp to throw down all the debris into the trash truck. That way the front of the clubhouse was protected from falling debris.
Roof Masters is doing the work. Of the six bids submitted, they had the best price, putting on a 50 year roof with the warranty backed up by GAF, one of the largest and most respected roofing-product manufacturers in the world.
Stan and I were able to inspect the roof after the paper was stripped off, and it was apparent the plywood is in poor shape. Much of it has rotted through and will need to be replaced.
