Update On The Gas Line Project!
We had the contractor back out on Wednesday to get the final inspection performed by the City of San Marcos.
As you will remember from a previous post, a severely corroded gas pipe needed replacement. After the replacement, it was necessary to pressure test the gas line and get the work signed off by the city inspector.
Our contractor, while pressure testing the gas line, discovered some additional leaks that needed to be addressed.
Two of the leaks were minor and were easily fixed, but a third leak was more serious. The gas pipe was completely corroded through, and in fact had a major hole in it. How long it had been leaking was unknown, but, as everyone knows, a leaking gas pipe is extremely dangerous.
Fortunately, our contractor repaired the problem promptly.
The city inspector came out and witnessed the successful pressure test, and signed off on the work. Now the contractor can finish the project as required.
